According to recent reports from British media, the Malaysian government has formulated short-term and long-term strategies aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the country’s major ports, namely Port Klang and Tanjung Pelepas Port. The transport minister of Malaysia, Anthony Loke, stated that the strategy encompasses increasing port capacity, improving efficiency and productivity, and transitioning to low-carbon green ports, among other aspects.

In recent years, Malaysia has vigorously developed its port economy through various measures such as expanding ports, enhancing the digitization level of ports, and establishing free trade zones, with the goal of becoming a logistics hub in Southeast Asia.

While actively expanding its ports, the Malaysian government has also vigorously promoted the digitization and intelligent construction of ports. According to Malaysian media reports, Malaysia’s first artificial intelligence container port will be established in Port Dickson, the only seaport in Semenyih.

Artificial intelligence technology will be applied to tasks such as ship entry and exit registration, ship movement scheduling, and tracking of offshore operations around the port, facilitating efficient operation of the port’s shipping and cargo transportation service chain.

Additionally, Malaysia’s Kuantan Port will also adopt advanced technologies such as green energy, smart logistics systems, and real-time tracking to optimize operational efficiency.
