On May 28, SPX Express (a part of the Shopee ecosystem) signed a cooperation agreement with Vietnam’s Frasers Property to develop a large-scale automated cargo sorting center at the An My Industrial Hub in Hung Yen Province. Spanning 170,000 square meters and capable of processing up to 7 million parcels daily, the sorting center will become SPX’s largest such facility in Southeast Asia.

The project’s breakthrough lies in its application of a double-deck cross-docking model—an advanced logistics technology being deployed in Vietnam for the first time. Cross-docking allows goods to be transferred directly from incoming trucks to outgoing trucks without intermediate storage.

The unique two-story design completely separates incoming and outgoing cargo flows on different floors, minimizing congestion, accelerating processing speeds, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Equipped with 158 loading/unloading doors, the center can handle multiple vehicles delivering goods simultaneously. It will connect more than 700 sorting points nationwide through an intelligent logistics network. Additionally, the center will adopt a new generation of Automated Sorting Machines (ASMs) to shorten delivery times, ensure high processing efficiency, and meet the robust growth trend of e-commerce.

Scheduled to break ground in the third quarter of 2025 and officially enter operation in the fourth quarter of 2027, this initiative follows SPX Express and Frasers Property Vietnam’s successful handover of a 106,000-square-meter automated cargo sorting center in Binh Duong Province.

At the signing ceremony, the Director of SPX Express Vietnam emphasized that the project is a critical component of the strategy to upgrade logistics infrastructure and meet the growing needs of businesses and consumers. “We hope the new center will effectively support small and medium enterprises while significantly improving the end-user experience.”
