From April 14th to 18th, President Xi Jinping paid state visits to Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia.

During the talks between President Xi Jinping and the Malaysian leaders, China and Malaysia once again confirmed that they would build a China-Malaysia community with a shared future at a higher level, and particularly emphasized multiple cooperation directions such as economic and trade cooperation, the digital economy, and green development. For cross-border e-commerce enterprises, this undoubtedly sends out a strong signal: Malaysia is becoming a key node in regional cooperation and a logistics hub.

As a local overseas warehouse service provider in Southeast Asia, we have truly felt the surging of this trend: The trade between China and Malaysia is becoming increasingly active, and Malaysia has become the first stop for more and more Chinese brands to “go global”.

With the advancement of policies on tariff facilitation and optimization of logistics customs clearance, the efficiency of warehousing and transshipment in Malaysia is also steadily improving. Local e-commerce platforms (such as Shopee and Lazada) have closer cooperation with Chinese sellers, and the local fulfillment demand in Malaysia has increased significantly.

The cross-border logistics industry has always been highly sensitive to geopolitics and the macro environment. Against the backdrop of increased global uncertainties, the “stability” of Southeast Asia, especially Malaysia, has become an important factor attracting the migration of the global supply chain.

The diplomatic signals of “stability and certainty” conveyed during this trip to Southeast Asia have injected a shot in the arm for overseas warehouse enterprises including ours:
The cross-border logistics chain is smoother: Policies such as multimodal transport, port docking, and green channels between China and Malaysia have been successively implemented, greatly enhancing the advantages of logistics timeliness and cost;

The confidence of cross-border e-commerce has been boosted: With stable policies and confirmed cooperation, sellers are more active in their layout, and the buyer experience is better guaranteed;

The role of overseas warehouses is becoming increasingly prominent: Pre-positioned warehousing, local delivery, and convenient return and exchange of goods have become indispensable core capabilities of cross-border e-commerce.
