Recently, under the supervision of Zengcheng Customs, which is affiliated with Huangpu Customs, a batch of cross-border e-commerce retail goods set off on the “China-Laos-Thailand” train from the Guangzhou Eastern Rail-Road Intermodal Transport Hub (Zengcheng West Station) to “go overseas”, marking the official operation of the “China-Laos-Thailand Train + Cross-border E-commerce (Mode 9610)” in Guangdong Province. A new logistics channel has been added to the cross-border trade between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia.

It is understood that this batch of goods mainly consists of daily necessities, with a value of 860,000 yuan. They will leave the country through the Mohan Port in Yunnan, reach Vientiane, Laos along the China-Laos Railway, and then head to Bangkok, Thailand. The whole journey takes about 4 days.
The goods carried by this train were declared using the customs supervision code “9610” (cross-border e-commerce retail export) mode, further realizing the deep integration of cross-border e-commerce retail goods and cross-border railway transportation. Zengcheng Customs strengthened policy guidance, guided enterprises to make standardized declarations, and helped various cross-border e-commerce goods such as clothing and daily necessities to be quickly assembled, providing stable transportation capacity support for small and medium-sized enterprises to “sell globally”. To ensure the smooth departure of the train, Zengcheng Customs strengthened its contact and docking with the railway department, the station, and the customs declaration enterprises.
It formulated a supervision plan for the “train + e-commerce” in advance, actively provided policy guidance to enterprises, promptly solved the difficult problems of enterprises, guided enterprises to efficiently apply the railway fast customs clearance mode, opened a green channel for customs inspection, dispatched personnel to conduct on-site supervision in a timely manner, paid real-time attention to the logistics dynamics, and improved the customs clearance efficiency.
The ‘China-Laos-Thailand’ train has unique advantages of being safe, stable, efficient, fast, and cost-effective, which can effectively avoid the problem of delays caused by weather conditions. Cross-border e-commerce hitching a ride on the express train of the train has effectively improved the transportation efficiency. Compared with sea freight, it can save nearly 50% of the logistics time, which is very attractive to e-commerce enterprises exporting to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
