The Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam announced that the 2024 Vietnam Logistics Forum will take place in early December at The Grand H? Tràm Hotel in Phuoc Son Village, Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
This year’s Vietnam Logistics Forum is jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee. The theme is “Free Trade Zones – Driving Breakthrough Measures for Logistics Growth,” which is also the theme of the 2024 Vietnam Logistics Report to be unveiled at the forum.
The forum is expected to attract more than 500 representatives, including officials from relevant departments, leaders from provinces and cities, particularly from the southeastern region, representatives from international organizations, logistics associations, domestic and international logistics service companies, production and import-export businesses, experts, and media representatives.
Amid global uncertainties and a backdrop of both opportunities and challenges, the 2024 Vietnam Logistics Forum will serve as an important platform for discussing and proposing measures for the development of logistics services.
According to the Import-Export Department, Vietnam has tremendous potential and advantages in developing logistics services. Vietnam’s strategic location in one of the most dynamic regions of the world, its rapidly growing economy that is deeply integrated into international markets, its position as the eighth emerging economy with robust e-commerce, and its role as a new manufacturing hub in the Asia-Pacific region all contribute to this potential. Additionally, Vietnam’s coastal location with a 3,260-kilometer coastline is advantageous for international transportation, with numerous deep-water ports, international airports, transnational rail systems, and a convenient transportation network.
Recently, Vietnam has actively studied free trade zones (FTZs) around the world. These economic zones offer numerous benefits to Vietnam and can boost logistics services. Currently, Vietnam does not have any FTZs, but the National Assembly has recently approved a pilot FTZ in Da Nang City. This will serve as the foundation for testing new policies.
